Many people seem to like my predictions when I give them, or as so it seems that I make predictions.  I have made many predictions and some have come and gone and then there are those predictions that I wish I had put onto something permanent like this blog post.  Now, when it happens, you can say you heard the news from me first.

I don’t feel I am giving a prediction here because predictions really have no merit because of the lack of facts to hold it up.  Maybe I am.  That’s for you to decide.  What I do know is the facts that are laid out in front of me and that is, “GOOGLE IS DOMINATING THE WORLD.” If you can think it, Google can do it.  Bing is trying to catch up, but what does Bing have?  Cue in the crickets.  They only have a search engine which is sub-par to Google and then there is Chrome.  Chrome is so fast.  Safari is good but it’s no Google.

Let’s get something correct.  The “numbers” show that Google owns you.  The “numbers” that I am referring to stems from its own search engine, the mobile devices that Google is involved in, and YouTube.  Those numbers are staggering if you could even try to add them up.  You are now a collective.  Haha, not to get over zealous here, the truth is solid.  If anyone thinks that Google is the underdog in any case, you need to check your panties then pull up your big boy pants.  I am just going by the “numbers” here guys.  It’s not an opinion.  Android isn’t the biggest OS, but it’s bigger than Apple’s iOS and getting to the top at record speeds.

What you see above involves three main things. (1) You  (2) Mobility  (3) Google.  Now, let’s go over this a little more in-depth.  This is a graph that I have created.  The only resources I am using here are just a few photos and clip art that I have obtained from..mmhmm..Google.

#1.  Letters A&B.  User to Mobility to Google TV.  Our phones are now capable of using a front camera on your device (if you have one) to BROADCAST.  Where Google and Apple chime in here is that Google (Android) is open to all sources except Apple, and Apple (iPhone) is closed, meaning Apple only works with itself.  This is a problem.  As Apple may have just came out with Apple TV, so has Google.  So do the math.  Google’s Android OS is bigger and if Apple can’t produce as much, they’ll fall short.  Now, I like the iPhone but I like Android way more.  Also, Google is hitting the mobile devices so fast and hard, all their devices are beginning to have a front camera.  THIS IS CRUCIAL to google’s takeover.  I have the EVO 4G with a front cam and I am more than happy.  BROADCASTING is new..brand spanking new, so this next stuff will put a hole in your eyes from the fire that lights it.  I owe that fire to Sprint’s lightning fast 4G which really allows me to seamlessly stream that broadcast with ease.

#2 Letters B,C & D.  Did you know that not only is Google retailing their Google TV boxes, but they are also including G-TV into the new monitors that are starting to sale.  Can’t wait for Google 3-D!  Later on that folks.  Now, Google has the strong-arm here and so does YouTube which is also owned by guess who?….oh yeah, GOOGLE!  YouTube will have their LIVE BROADCASTING option available soon.  Maybe they do now, haha, they run faster than I can think.  With Google TV using YouTube’s strength and the awesome innovation of using that camera on your device, you will not only have a channel of your own LIVE but mobile as well.  This also means HUGE sales for Google and it’s Android OS.  This will eventually lead to more traffic, popularity, revenue for Google and you, and a new YouTube.  Just like you see now, imagine if you had over 1 million subscribers to your channel.  You would have major sponsorship and a new life.  The tools are there and I will give this less than 3 months to take effect to over 50,000 new Android device owners in part to this concept.

Here are a couple of things which uses the letter “E” from the graph.  Letter “E” is a security system using wi-fi, your phone and Google’s new cameras (not available yet). For your homes, think of one huge monitor able to show up to 50 live channels at once.  Is this impossible?  No, it’s possible and very probable.

In conclusion, what does this mean to you, knowing that the next wave of technology will stem from Google and its new G-TV?  What do you think of Apple’s strategy and what their next move will be?  With the Yankees leading in the championships, how much longer do you think the Cubs will have to go before they win another championship?

I’m sorry, but how much more badass can this girl get?  She streams “BLAM” from every corner and she isn’t even in her prime.  Used with my HTC Evo 8mp cam and Photostitch, here I am able to do more than just one shot or spend countless hours trying to line pics up.  You’ll notice on the top photo, it’s a little off, but that’s mostly because of the angle and I am just not the best or perfect at anything.  Hope you enjoy.  Also, if you haven’t seen RE-A in 3D, it’s worth the money.  The 3D effects were awesome but without the 3D, to me it’s just another shoot-em up with sex holding a gun.

It’s really interesting how technology has changed so drastically.  Normally, my posts are about the Rockabilly lifestyle, but I also admit I am a tech junkie.  I love things that make my life simple and technology does just that.  Many people tell me that I should stop using my Sprint Navigation, but what’s the use?  Do they actually think that I could ever learn South Florida within my lifetime?  On the other hand, just understanding this grid would be helpful, but I digress.  wasting my time is simply that..a waist.  Everyone has their opinion and they may be right.  I, otherwise would rather know where I am going without having to think about it that much and just remember the way I am going as I follow my Sprint Navie.

People are taking technology way to the tops and pushing its limits.  As you click on the picture below, don’t be alarmed as you enter your address or if that freaks you out, just enter “A” address.  It doesn’t have to be yours.  The message lies within the video and that is the way we view our lives is changing as we walk day by day.  In this case, it’s running faster and even is flying faster than we can run.  CLICK PHOTO BELOW

…OF CREATING FUN PANORAMAS

The photo you see above was taken with my HTC EVO Android 2.2 (Froyo) equipped with many apps like the one I used above..PHOTOSTITCH.  First of all, I love this phone.  I’m a junkie of this phone now (haha, how sad right?) and I can’t get enough of it.  The Android system is unbelievable as it houses an 8mp firecracker of a camera on the back (unlike some 5mp phones) and we can’t forget the great one on the front.  The pictures above are to only show the depth and range that can be achieved and not so much the size of the photo or it’s quality, although it’s sweet.  However special this phone may be, there are applications developed for this fantastic bad boy and Photostitch is one of them.  Now, I just got this app a couple of days ago and like most apps, one may get tired of it easily.  As an avid photographer, I see it differently with this app.  My standard is at least 8mp and nothing less.  It’s almost as powerful as my Canon and I do say that with caution.  I love my Canon and I’m a quick shot at it.  Maybe the lenses aren’t interchangeable on my EVO like it is on my Canon motherload but that’s ok.  The convenience of having this camera in my pocket is better than those other bulky cams but that’s not the best part.  The best part is the speed of the shots, the ability to line those shots up accurately, the stitching and being able to share it by message, e-mail, or simply to one of my social networks.  It’s just as badass as you would think.  Did I mention there were some really cool filters.  Mono and Sepia may be the standard for phone apps these days, but able to do it after I have stitched 5 photos together and applying it quickly is to me, a little more than just a standard thing.  It’s an avid photographer’s dream and it’s on my EVO.

One of the things that I have really enjoyed with Photostitch so far because I haven’t had much opportunity to shoot since I just got this a couple of days ago, is the extra photos that I could add after I bought the premium for only a couple of bucks which gives me a total of 5 cool shots that I can merge together and instantly create an awesome panorama on the spot.  ”Boy am I fired up about this app?!” It’s really nice because I have sent a few of these shots to myself through Gmail to check out both the quality and size of my result.  That’s where the excitement really came out because I got to see how nice that 8mp camera worked and while you don’t see it by looking at the photos above or even on the EVO because it’s still not life-size, take my word for it…it’s nice.

Making good money is what many Americans dream about.  It supplies us with the means to make our own hours, focus on certain areas and even take care of the children.  Making GREAT money from home and being able to afford the comforts of living is the American Dream.  Well, maybe not always working from home, but the idea that we can be OUR own boss from the comfort of our home is what everyone says, “Wow, wouldn’t that be nice?”  I say, “Wow, if it was only that easy!”

The problem here is that working from home can be tricky and the companies that are out there with working from home job placements can be down right sinister.  ”Stuffing envelopes anyone?”  It’s an evil on it’s own and while some people say that those companies are living the American dream by getting people to buy their schemes, I feel it’s aiding in the ignorance of Americans who are down on their luck and corroding the American dream with the idea of laziness and the idea of making it easy without the hard work that this country was built upon.  The idea of not having an education or training to do a job and make tons of money is yes, too good to be true.  It’s like watching people spend money on lottery tickets to make it big…humorous and sad.

Working from home is a great way to spend most of your day if you can.  What I like most about finding a career is if I can find a career that lets me work from home part time.  A great business survives on the social aspect and that means meeting people face to face and talking to them on the phone.  Stuffing envelopes gives you none of that and neither does selling SMC merchandise through eBay.  These days, if you didn’t go to law school or to be a doctor, to have good job security means you have to diversify and to diversify means that your home may become a base for your actions.  I’ve been laid off 6 times and boy does that suck, so while I may not be an expert on this subject and this blog is just an educated outlook on my life, diversification is what I have had to live on.  It’s more fun than you would think.  It can be tiring to multi-task your off ass for money, but the reward is nice and I get to see my woman more than most people get to.  I am really excited about the thought of being around for my children.  It was important for me when my dad was around and it should be just as important for them.

So is working from home for you?  Yes, it’s for everyone.  The niche here is..well yes…finding a niche.  What do you like to do?  What could you offer people and make a few dollars on?  My favorite revelation is if you like to do more than one thing, because things add up.  I live in Southern Florida and $700 a week helps me relax a bit, but it’s not because of one thing.  Remember the word DIVERSIFICATION, that you can’t do it on just one thing anymore.  I like eggs so let’s think of working on just one thing as eggs.  I will eat eggs up, and so will life.  Granted, you may have one career and like it.  Good luck with that.  I can guess there is something else you would like to carry out in your life.  So find it.  Find many things to do and like and then turn that into money.  Making money doesn’t make you happy …… that’s what the poor man said.  Honestly, it doesn’t make you the happiest man in the world and it does make you happy.  However, it does give a path to become the happiest and with that note, disagreements or not, I am retiring to my nest.

…And so it has happened.  On the 1st of August, we (Barbara, Glenn and myself, Morrison) introduced the 1st ever Sexy Sushi Sake Swing Sunday … an event to a that included a lot of really cool people.  The turnout and response was just what we were looking for and has set the tone for where we want to go next with an event like this.  We are excited for this event and others like it to become bigger!  It was actually a brilliant concept by Barbara.  She had an idea and was able to execute her thought process quite effectively and carried out an idea that people would like.  In retrospect, more than just getting people together to learn how to roll sushi, learn about the different kinds of sake, and learn the basic rock step in Swing dancing, she was able to get people to an event … in an atmosphere where everyone was comfortable.  The whole idea for this event was to create an atmosphere full of social integration from all angles instead of just one or two.  I didn’t see it the same way she did at first, but as time went on and looking at it from her vision, it all made sense.

The crowd was a great mix of people and we separated everyone into 2 groups.  Everyone got a chance to spend one-on-one time learning how to roll sushi and then learning the Rock Step in and practicing their Swing dancing.  I set up some channels on Pandora as our DJ (if you’d like me to share the channels with you, just let me know!).  I do believe that Pandora is the best choice of any music source that I have found.  Sake was next on the agenda – everyone was able to sample a variety of different sakes from the two main categories: filtered and unfiltered ["milky"].  In two hours, everyone learned a little bit about a variety of things, while enjoying it as well.  Everyone commented that they had a great hands on experience.  

Chef Glenn was the Sushi man.  He has an extended knowledge of how to roll Sushi.  Some of the rolls on the menu were the “Bang Bang Me” South West Chicken, “Marilyn Monroe Grill Me Gently” Grilled Vegetable, and some other fun and more traditional Sushi creations that included salmon and tuna.  As I looked out the window every once in a while during the Swing lessons, I couldn’t help but notice how much fun people were having while ‘playing with their food’ and learning how to roll different foods to make sushi.  Although I was having a blast teaching the group classes, I didn’t get the luxury of learning how to roll the sushi with Chef Glenn …  Boo hoo, cry me a river right?  Haha, definitely next time … I mean Sushi is my favorite food, and as Chef Glenn said ‘no fish required’ … what a great thing!  Glad people were able to experience some of the other great ways to make Sushi.

If you have never experienced a dance lesson and especially one like a Swing dance lesson to where you can actually feel very relieved that you can learn a dance that’ll knock you into shape, learn how to dance like a real man or have everyone looking at the most beautiful girl on the floor … gain some style, raise your confidence and just have some damn clean fun, then you’re missing out.  If you don’t take my word for it, look at the smiles in the pictures above and especially the video at the very top [more videos on my Facebook page].  BTW, if you’re considering private lessons, leave a comment below and I’ll contact you to get started today!  While listening to artists like Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis Presley, and Reverend Horton Heat both groups were able to learn how to dance the rock step and other great Swing steps, learned how to take those dance steps and put them to music, and at the end experience a very small taste of what it’s like to compete against each other in the ‘No Pants Off Dance Off’. We also gave out prizes every half hour – among those a couple of free dance lessons.  What a great time!

Finally, I must say this. Sushi, Swing and Sake isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.  The reality is not everyone will like all of it, but most people liked a part of it.  What I have come to realize however is that putting it all together made this event an event for everyone.  The way it was structured, people got a great value and well more than what their money was worth.  For instance, a group dance lesson is $12 an hour on its own.  Add in the Sake, Sushi lesson, learning material to take home and fun, and you have a winner.  I saw many smiles and got to see many happy people who were willing to try something new.  That is an experience on its own.

Don't Touch the Hair

…and we’ll be just fine

What is grease, pomade, gel, wax, etc., that you put into your hair?  It’s exactly what it is.  It’s junk that you put into your hair and at the end of the day you wash out.  Now, I’m not going to get into a debate on if it’s bad for your head or if it helps your hair grow.  The Granolas that pour tons of their money into hair products on the premises that what they apply will help their hair grow are asleep.  I will quote an indian who once said,

“Hairs are only dead cells.  It is not living growth.  If it was, you’d scream your head off getting a hair cut.”

If there is one thing I will say about grease, is that it looks damn good and holds your hair in place better than anything out there.  When I am talking about grease, I am actually talking about the hair products such as Royal Crown or Murray’s.  There are many types of grease out their and you could even go as far as actually using cooking grease (which they did back in the day and which I don’t recommend) but it’s Royal Crown and Murrays which sells the most.  They are actually a house hold name.  Murrays was made to be stronger than Royal Crown because the hair of black males is more difficult to manage than the hair of white males.  With all the types of hair products out there and your decision as to what you want, let’s look at the pros and cons of the Murrays and Royal Crown compared to other dressings you would see on the shelves.

Cons:  a little odorous, can be a little hard to wash out, scalp buildup 

Pros: Inexpensive, easily accessible, harmless, gives the best look 

So as you may have both pros and cons to these products, the truth is that they serve the same purpose and deliver just as well if not better.  There are things out there that are better at a lower price and in this case, it’s grease in a can.  Just take the word from…

Better than a brush

Using a comb is easy. It’s more easy when your hair is wet.  Other than hair, many people have no idea what many uses a comb can have.  In fact, it is one of the oldest tools for man.  

POP Qiz! Did you know that men and women in the cotton fields used combs to separate the seeds from the cotton.  The cotton gin was built on the idea of what a comb can do for production efficiency.  However great they were, cotton gins became an irony as a revolutionary discovery.  In time, men weren’t needed in the fields as much as they were before for cotton.  A historical breakthrough in design, combs weren’t just a tool for men to use in their hair.  

In the 50′s, the hair was all the rage.  To be cool, you had to have three things.  A ride (car or motor-bike), rebellion, and some damn good hair. 

Marlon Brando

Men with that certain crop of hair on their heads made the cut when only grease was added to it.  It’s as if superpowers were given to anyone who possessed a can of pomade and you were a square if you didn’t.  Hollywood noticed this trend and coined it as the look by using characters such as Marlon Brando, James Dean and others to portray bad boys among  musicians like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, and Johnny Cash. Both women and men were drawn to these characters, because of the vein ways they carried themselves.  These guys, with their more than life lives, were the poster children for coolness.  Coolness begat edgy, edgy begat fear and fear begat ignorance among conservative America.  The way a man applied pomade (see next review on pomades) to his hair and with the way he stroked it through with his comb, was seen to be like someone today flashing gang signals with his hands.  “I personally carry my comb in my back right pocket, ready to put those hairs back in place that tend to stray.”  A comb is a symbol of organization for men and it starts with his hair.  If a man has hair that isn’t well put together, you can bet he lives an unstable life. 

Still today, it is the same when you use a comb to style your hair.  Even though the hair products have changed dramatically, shampoos are made from crazy ingredients like Ginseng and organic penguin urine, and curling irons are remote controlled; the small and mighty comb guided by the swift flick of the wrist has not.  Their is no evolution to being cool.

• Cotton: Used to sort seeds out of the cotton
• Shank: Combs are outlawed in over 95% of the prison system.  They have been known to be used as shanks or make-shift weapons
• Magic Carpets: Since 1929, there has been sightings of men in the far east flying on combs
